Although I arrived in sunny India on May first it took me 20 days to get my internet service up. Please don’t ask why the hold up, I don’t want to start off with a sour note.
I have moved into my home and started my course. Things are smooth. I live in a guest house which is situated just behind my landlord’s house. I have my bathroom and toilet. Luckily my room is fully furnished with a TV and importantly Air conditioning.
As for food there are plenty of restaurants in royapettah. Plenty of cinemas nearby and the streets are always buzzing with people, unlike Brisbane where even the city becomes a ghost town after 5.
I was told that satyam theatre is the best in Chennai by my classmates. So yesterday I went there to catch “Kuruvi”. Being a Vijay (actor) fan I was raring to watch the movie. Sadly the movie didn’t live up to the expectations. The first half was ok but the second half was a pain to watch. But the cinema was very posh and comfortable and the sound systems were comparable to cinemas in Singapore.
Chennai has taken me with open arms, I don’t get the stares and I feel that I fit in with the Chennai people. Tomorrow I am going to the much talked about “Marina beach”!
